Solomon Islands Ombudsman Appointed

On 11 May 2017, Mr Frederick Fakarii was sworn in for a five-year term as Ombudsman of the Solomon Islands. Mr Fakarii was sworn in by Governor General Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui at Government House in Honiara.

 

Mr Fakarii is a long serving and experienced public servant, formerly the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 

Mr Fakarii replaces Mr Joe Poraiwai who held the position for two terms.
